About
The Healing Center for Trauma & Relationships
Our Philosophy
Responsible care for clients and clinicians alike
At The Healing Center for Trauma & Relationships, our mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality care for those seeking hope and healing. We create a safe, supportive environment where encouragement and growth can take place. Our clinicians specialize in trauma and life’s most difficult challenges, helping couples, individuals and families move toward resilience and restoration.
We believe the care we show each other as a team extends to every person we serve. While no one can force change, we can create the conditions that make it possible—and that is the heart of our work.

We would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and wholeness.

Our Story
How HCTR got started
The Healing Center for Trauma & Relationships was founded by Dr. Teressa Wilcox, LMFT, whose passion for helping others has guided her work since the late 1990s. For more than two decades, Teressa has walked alongside individuals, couples, and families impacted by trauma, abuse, and difficult relationships. Her heart for service has extended beyond her practice, including short-term mission trips providing free counseling to full-time missionaries.

Alongside her clinical practice, Teressa dedicated decades to supervising new therapists and teaching in a Marriage & Family Therapy graduate program. Today, she serves as a Clinical Supervisor at Concordia University’s Counseling Center, guiding and mentoring the next generation of therapists.

The Healing Center represents the merging of Teressa’s experience in teaching, mentoring, and private practice into a vision for both clients and clinicians. Born out of the increased need for mental health care during COVID-19, the Center provides high-quality therapy for clients while offering hands-on training and support for the next generation of therapists.
